Employee engagement has been a hot topic in the Harvard Business Review lately, with Sean Graber suggesting organizations shift gears by working to understand the way their employees perceive their jobs, how they behave at work, and how these affect company performance. John Case further advises treating employees as business owners, encouraging them to think as businesspeople by welcoming ideas to improve, sharing profit increases, and fostering an “ownership mindset.” Lastly, Michael C. Mankins proposes companies go beyond engaging employees by aiming to also inspire them.
