It is no secret that companies have difficulty hiring talent with the right qualifications. There are a number of schools and companies that are working tirelessly to close the gap. MIT is one example. Over the past year, MIT has offered its supply chain management program online for free. This year, they are taking the model one step further. In addition to learning for free, students in MIT’s supply chain management program will now have the option to earn a “micro-master’s” certificate to help prove their new skills to employers. The Wall Street Journal’s Loretta Chao further investigates MIT’s plans to expand the program and ultimately increase the talent pool.
